Hammered by No Primer!

Folks, just in case you see a nut driving around around town honking his horn and yelling something unintelligible out the window, but manage to hear my name, I've got something to tell you. And it pains me greatly!

No Primer and I went to Alexandria, La. yesterday to participate in the Bayou State Bowhunter's Association's "Spring Fling" 3-d archery tournament. We met a lot of good folks from across the state and No Primer caught me sleeping. He mercilessly hammered me on the range. I should have suspected something was up when he refused to allow me to enter the senior's division (my first year of eligibility). He was unnaturally quite when I informed him I was keeping my seeing eye glasses in my pocket to adjust to the new realities of being a senior citizen. He didn't even take into account the event was not a "state" competition and therefore, I was not properly motivated to let my competitive juices flow.

He went kind of nuts on me once the match was over, going around loudly proclaiming how he beat the state champion!

I almost left him on the side of the road near Thistlewaite Wildlife Management Area.

If you see a nut hitchhiking on the side of the road carrying a bow when hunting season is closed, please don't give him a ride.

Could It Be?

If you've read the story about the archery tournament posted in September (It's still there if you haven't. Click on older posts at the bottom of the page) you'll recall my friend Ian (Number One) beat me out of first place in a state archery tournament where a lot of folks from across the state paid a thirty dollar entry fee. We were to recieve belt buckles as awards. His would be gold and mine silver. We were informed the buckles would be mailed to us. They never were. Brandon Collins of Collin's Outdoors was a major sponsor of the event. He recently contacted me through the comment part of this blog (refer to the post in September) and asked if we ever recieved the buckles. So what do you think? Whatever, it's nice to know someone closely associated with the event may be keeping an eye on the organizers.

No Primer may be familiar to the rest of ya'll. He is in several of the stories posted and is quite a hoot to boot! Scroll down some of the older postings to find him. He is a good friend and excellent sportsman.
